The incredible worth of the opulent watch that Real Madrid star Antonio Rudiger wore during their Champions League celebrations has been revealed, and it is “almost 30 times MORE than the Champions League trophy.” Rudiger celebrated Real Madrid’s Champions League triumph in style, as he showed off a watch worth a staggering €1.51 million.
In the Wembley final on Saturday, Real Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to win the cup for the fifteenth time, and the German international played a strong defensive position. Rudiger posed for pictures with the Champions League trophy on Monday on his Instagram account with Toni Kroos, another member of his international team, and David Alaba, who was injured and missed the game. Viewers of Rudiger’s social media photo would have seen the pricey item on his wrist in addition to the renowned trophy they were flaunting.
According to reports, the watch, a Patek Phillipe Nautilus which was produced in collaboration with luxury label Tiffany & Co, is worth a staggering €1.51m (£1.29m) – almost 30 times more valuable than the Champions League trophy itself, which is only considered to be worth €50,000 (£42,600). Rudiger also flaunted the watch in a video that was altered and reposted by the account “insaneluxurylife” after it was first uploaded on Alaba’s Instagram story.
This limited edition collector’s item was created in association with Tiffany & Co. to commemorate their 170 years of partnership, with only 170 timepieces said to have been made. Rudiger is not the only well-known figure in sports to be photographed donning the watch, as NBA superstar LeBron James was also spotted wearing it at the French 24 Hours of Le Mans race the previous year.
Saturday’s triumph was the second time that Rudiger has won the Champions League during his career – previously doing so with Chelsea back in 2021. With this latest victory, Rudiger became the third player in history to win the Champions League, joining his teammates Alaba and Toni Kroos. The 31-year-old will now look to succeed with his country, which is hosting the European Championship this summer.
