Meet basketball’s new “it” couple!

Following weeks of allegedly a romance between NBA champion Jaylen Brown and free-agent WNBA guard Kysre Gondrezick, the pro-hoopers formally announced their relationship when they walked the red carpet on Thursday, July 11.

At the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, Brown, 27, and Gondrezick, 26 stunned in matching black costumes. Whereas the Boston Celtics star accessorised his red carpet outfit with a broach and sunglasses, the former WNBA player’s dress had lace accents and a high collar.

Brown said Gondrezick his “beautiful date” during the ESPYS red carpet webcast on ESPN.com.

First, the pair started rumours about romance when she was seen next to him commemorating his NBA title.

And just before their red carpet appearance at the ESPYS, the two were seen walking arm in arm by TMZ from a van heading to the venue.

Brown selected Finals MVP in June after guiding the Celtics to an eighteenth banner for TD Garden.

At Thursday’s show, Brown won the award for best championship performance. During his speech, Brown thanked ESPN, his teammates, the Celtics organization and his “beautiful mother.”

“God is the greatest of all time,” Brown said, before concluding his acceptance speech.

Gondrezick, meantime, was just let go from the Chicago Sky, where she forged a close bond with Angel Reese and performed alongside. On Instagram, the two often post pictures from trips together, and create movies for TikHub.

Gondrezick connected to NBA player Kevin Porter Jr. before her relationship with Brown. Porter Jr., 24, was arrested in September following an allegedly violent attack with Gondrezick overnight in a Manhattan hotel.

Following the incident, Gondrezick was brought to a nearby hospital reportedly suffering with a broken bone and bruises according to local NBC 4.

A NYPD official told PEOPLE she was brought to the hospital in stable condition after suffering cuts on the right side of her face. Porter Jr. “struck her multiple times about the body and placed his hands around her neck,” police said. In January Porter Jr. admitted guilt to misdemeanour assault and a harassment offence.

Gondrezick, who was drafted fourth overall in 2021, might potentially be acquired by a WNBA team even if the Sky waived her last month.
