Damian Lillard feels vindicated as court docs reveal his estranged wife’s ‘incredible’ admission about their three children

Shortly after being traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks, Damian Lillard filed for divorce from his wife Kay’la. The couple recently celebrated their second anniversary, which shocked the NBA community. The seven-time All-Star cited “irreconcilable differences” in his divorce papers.

Kay’la, however, appears to have ripped Lillard, according to paperwork filed in Oregon’s Clackamas County Circuit.

In her divorce suit, the mother of three stated (via Radar Online):

“Father has never been the sole parent responsible for the care of all three of our children, for any hours-long period of time without the help of nannies, assistants, and/or family members.

“Father chose when and how much he saw the children while the children lived with me full-time in my home. When Father was in town and not traveling for basketball, publicity, endorsements, or his music endeavors, he would pop over to visit for anywhere between thirty minutes to an hour to play with the kids while I was there or while a nanny was present a few times a week.”

Damian Lillard has been known to use social media to share photographs of himself and his children enjoying fun. He previously captioned one of his Instagram images “dad of all times.”

Kay’la Lillard said why she chose to remain silent, despite Lillard’s alleged poor parenting:

“I understand he is busy and has many commitments he must attend to. I also understand that the brand ‘Damian Lillard’ needs to continue with an image of a family-man. Despite our separation for several months, I have continued to support that image to the public.”

Dаme also shared in an interview on Christmas: “That’s probably been the biggest challenge, being away from my kids, Being away from everything that I’ve known.

“It’s a hurdle. It is an everyday bаttle. Any father or any mother would know that. When you wake up and you are able to be physically present with your kids, there is nothing else that you love more in the world.”

“So being away from my kids, I wake up every day like, man, they are not seeing my face today physically. I can’t hug them. I can’t go pick my son up from school. I can’t pick up my twin daughter and son.

“It’s things that you just can’t do being this far away. And those are things that I love to do the most and I take a lot of pride in. When you get stripped of that, and for a great reason, there is a lot to be thankful for. But it’s just hard.”
