Jayson Tatum’s contract was not merely extended by the legendary team after he assisted the Celtics in winning the NBA championship.
Derrick White and Tatum executed a substantial new contract with Boston, which was disclosed on Saturday. White, who was acquired by the Celtics in a trade prior to the 2022 deadline, was originally scheduled to play on an expiring contract in 2024–2025. However, his NBA free agency date has been revised to 2030.
Tatum took a moment to memorialise his own contract, which established a new standard for the most lucrative in league history. Nevertheless, the five-time All-Star ensured that White was recognised on his Instagram story on Sunday.
Tatum wrote in the caption of a picture of the two cuddling, “My dawg right here.”
The concept of Brad Stevens and his team securing a nucleus of championship players was echoed in the written words of Tatum and White. Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis sealed multi-year contracts with the Celtics in July of last year, and Jrue Holiday signed a new contract prior to the commencement of the postseason.
The Celtics are anticipated to continue to be consistent title challengers for an extended period of time, which is unfavourable for the remainder of the NBA.
