After leaving PSG, Kylian Mbappe is expected to sign a £17 million deal to purchase a French team. At the age of 25, the Real Madrid player would become one of the youngest club owners in Europe

The top player for Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe, has just recently returned to France after joining Los Blancos when his Paris Saint-Germain contract ended, but he is already hoping to return to domestic football in his own country.

Mbappe is expected to become the owner of Caen with talks reportedly nearing a conclusion

The new Real Madrid signing had nearly joined Caen as a teenager back in 2012

Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari and current director of his brand image team, Ziad Hammoud, will be sworn in as the new president. A few years back, the latter came close to negotiating Mbappe’s transfer to Caen, but they ultimately decided to join AS Monaco.

Without a sure, Mbappe’s investment in Caen represents the next phase of his career, and it may come as no surprise that he is purchasing a club in the same vein as David Beckham.  While Mbappe may not have much influence over day-to-day operations, it is difficult to recall many players who have truly taken over a club while they are still active. Nevertheless, this illustrates the difference between football’s upper echelons and the more middle class ones.
