Mason Mount recently took a pause from his summer break to engage in a charitable event with Make-A-Wish UK.
The Chelsea and England midfielder, amidst considerable transfer speculation, made a special appearance at Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire. He joined Kimberley Walsh, the presenter and Girls Aloud star, in supporting the event organized through Disney’s partnership with the charity.
Mount and Walsh spent time with children battling severe illnesses and their families, and he was spotted mingling with Disney characters like Mickey Mouse. The 24-year-old’s involvement included interacting with the children and participating in the day’s activities, bringing smiles and creating memorable moments.
This charitable gesture comes as Mount is embroiled in a contract dispute with Chelsea and intense negotiations with Manchester United. With his current Chelsea contract expiring at the end of next season, there has been a prolonged stand-off regarding a new deal. Reports indicate that Mount is seeking a substantial salary increase to align with top earners at the club, but Chelsea has yet to agree to his terms.
Liverpool and Arsenal were initially seen as potential suitors, but both dropped out of the race due to escalating transfer costs. Manchester United emerged as the frontrunner, but their recent bids have been rebuffed. Chelsea is holding out for a deal of £58m plus £7m in add-ons, causing United to explore other options, including Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. Despite the impasse, there is still a chance a resolution could be reached if Mount remains committed to the move.
Reflecting on his charitable work, Mount shared his appreciation for the experience: “The impact of Make-A-Wish on children and their families is truly amazing. Collaborating with Disney made the event even more special. Spending time with these families, participating in the festivities, and helping create lasting memories was an incredible experience. I feel honored to have been part of it.”
