Jurrien Timber amazed by togetherness in Rwanda when meeting the Gooners in Rwanda

Jurrien Timber, an Arsenal FC defender, says Rwanda’s attitude of unity and peace has struck him significantly.

The Dutch footballer’s three-day tour to the country began on Thursday, December 14.

“Revelry to be in Rwanda is splendid. I am having a tremendous time spent here. Everyone seems to be smiling, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. “My experience thus far in Rwanda has lived up to the many positive things I have heard,” Timber said while observing juvenile footballers on a playground near Kigali Pele Stadium.

On his first day in Rwanda, Timber visited the massacre Memorial Centre and paid tribute to the victims of the 1994 Tutsi massacre.

“It is crucial to comprehend Rwanda’s history and the events that transpired in the country.” “I am grateful for the current state of peace that has been established in the nation,” he expressed.

The 22-year-old spoke with the young footballers and shared some of his life experiences.

“My mother is the greatest source of motivation for me.” She is exceptionally dear to me. “We had little when I was young, but her support helped me get to where I am today,” he explained.

A former Ajax player reminisced on his career, stating that, despite being injured during the Community Shield match versus Manchester City, it was his most memorable moment.

He also stated that Erling Haaland of Manchester City is the most formidable striker he has ever seen.

“Despite suffering an injury, my finest performance was in the Community Shield match between Arsenal and Manchester City.” “Erling Haaland is the most formidable striker I have ever encountered,” he stated.

Timber expressed gratitude for the “Visit Rwanda” campaign and the Rwandan people’s overwhelming support for Arsenal.

“I’ve noticed many Arsenal shirts on the streets; people really support Arsenal here,” according to him.

Timber’s excursion is a Visit Rwanda initiative in cooperation with Arsenal FC, the club’s official tourism partner and inaugural Sleeve Sponsor.
