According to Football Insider, Manuel Ugarte is close to joining Old Trafford as Manchester United intensifies negotiations. Following an impressive performance against Fulham, where Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo stood out, United is aware of the need for another defensive midfielder, and Ugarte could be the answer.
The Uruguayan midfielder is keen to leave Parc des Princes by the end of August. Football Insider reports that Manchester United is accelerating talks and expects to finalize the deal in the coming days.
Fabrizio Romano adds that Ugarte is eager to move to Old Trafford and is awaiting the two clubs to finalize the transfer fee.
PSG has valued Ugarte at around £45 million, and with Manchester United having already spent significantly in the transfer window, they must be cautious not to breach Premier League Financial Fair Play regulations while pursuing the Uruguayan.
Meanwhile, Scott McTominay is rumored to be heading to Napoli. He has reportedly had positive discussions with coach Antonio Conte.
