Robbie Mainoo had a light-hearted moment with his injured teammate Leny Yoro during a recent outing that showcased his playful side.
The Manchester United pair were seen getting into a car this week, with Yoro visibly grappling with crutches and a protective boot following surgery for a fractured foot. As he navigated his way into the vehicle, Mainoo couldn’t help but crack a joke.
In the video, Yoro stops to take selfies with fans before gingerly passing his crutches into the backseat. As Yoro finally settled in, Mainoo quipped, “Leny, you’re moving at a snail’s pace, bro.”
The comment sparked laughter from both players before they drove off, capturing a moment of camaraderie despite Yoro’s injury.
Yoro, who made headlines with his £52million transfer from Lille this summer, has been sidelined after a promising start. Following a strong performance in a friendly against Rangers, his tour with United in the USA ended abruptly with a foot fracture sustained against Arsenal. After undergoing surgery, he’s set for a three-month recovery.
This means the 18-year-old might not return until late October, with his potential Premier League debut possibly coinciding with the Chelsea visit to Old Trafford on November 2.
In the meantime, Erik ten Hag’s side kicked off their season at home against Fulham on Friday. New recruit Joshua Zirkzee made an impact with a decisive late goal, securing a 1-0 win. Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui also made their United debuts after joining from Bayern Munich.
United’s next challenge is an away fixture at Brighton this Saturday as they continue their league campaign.
