Steph Curry currently owns one of the largest watch collections in the NBA, and this new addition further strengthens his already impressive collection.
The Golden State Warriors’ star player, who helped his team win the NBA Finals this year, has excellent taste in watches, despite the fact that there are many fashionable watch guys in the NBA’s top league.
He usually wears Carriers, but this week, while hosting the 2022 ESPY Awards, he donned a rather unusual watch: a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph (ref. 5500V/110A-B481).
Surprisingly few celebrities are spotted wearing the Overseas, even though the majority of watch enthusiasts are aware of it. Rather, the majority of male celebrities go for high-end sports watches like the Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet or the Nautilus and Aquanaut by Patek Philippe.
Unfortunately, the Overseas isn’t as much of a pop cultural figure, which makes us believe that it’s a more fascinating film. It is a work for true art enthusiasts; it is not as tacky. Stephen Curry is undoubtedly a watch obsessive.
Curry selected a version of this multipurpose, upscale sports watch with silvered counters that contrast elegantly with the black face and a column-wheel chronograph. For a jet-setter like Chef Curry, the Overseas Chronograph is a robust yet subtle timepiece with a 52-hour power reserve and 150-meter water resistant.
Although interchangeable watch straps are commonplace these days, Vacheron was a pioneer in this field, and the Overseas was among the first timepieces to use a quick-change strap mechanism. There are three types of straps available for the Overseas: steel, rubber, and leather. The steel strap is cleverly designed to resemble the Maltese cross emblem of Vacheron Constantin.
In addition to hosting the ESPYs, Curry took home the Best Record-Setting Performance trophy for the previous season, having made more 3-pointers than any other player in NBA history.
Curry did, however, receive the trophy with great grace. Many young children are putting a lot of effort into breаking records. “I can’t wait to be in the arena when you break this record,” he remarked after accepting the honour. What a fantastic king.
