During the Premier League hiatus, England footballers Harry Maguire and Jordan Pickford have been prioritizing some leisure time in Dubai. The pair recently participated in the Dubai Desert Classic Pro-Am at the Emirates Golf Club, sharing the course with notable golfers including Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, and Tommy Fleetwood.
Maguire, the Manchester United centre-back, and Pickford, the Everton goalkeeper, relished their round of golf together. They even posed for a photo with Westwood, who later shared the image on social media, which Maguire retweeted with a playful comment about organizing a five-a-side team.
The duo also played alongside Irish golfer Shane Lowry, who posted a picture of their group on Instagram with the caption, “Great group today in Dubai. Easy money for the Irish.” Maguire humorously replied, “We’ll get revenge on our home patch.”
Dubai has become a popular destination for Premier League stars during the break, with Liverpool players Andy Robertson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner also participating in the Pro-Am. The Liverpool trio played alongside 2011 Masters winner Charl Schwartzel, competing against prominent golfers such as Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, and Danny Willett.
Formula One driver Lando Norris also took advantage of the break, sharing a photo from the golf course alongside Indian cricket legend Yuvraj Singh.
While Maguire and Pickford enjoyed their downtime in Dubai, their Manchester United teammates Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard focused on maintaining their fitness, engaging in weight training and skill development at a top-notch sports facility.
