Serbia hosted the 60th Ljubicevski Equestrian Games, where horses ridden by Nikolđ Jokic competed

The Denver Nuggets player Nikola Jokić is swiftly getting back to his winning ways as a racehorse owner, having just won an NBA title.

Jokić entered two horses in the 60th Ljubićevski Equestrian Games in Pošarevac, Serbia: Amy Del Duomo and Brenno Laumar. Out of eight horses, Brenno Laumar prevailed, and Amy Del Duomo came in second place.

In the summer, Brenno Laumar has won six of the eight races that have taken place. A day prior, Amsterdam JMH, an additional equine from Jokić’s Dream Catcher stable, was victorious in an independent competition including eight other equines.

Jokić has taken part in a number of horse races in the off-season. He was spotted in Serbia for horse racing last month with his Nuggets colleague Aaron Gordon.

Jokić has been transparent about his love of horse racing. After winning the NBA Finals in June, he was asked if he would buy another horse. In a very astute response, he said, “Probably, even if I lose.”

In June, when Denver defeated Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, MVP of the series declared that he would like to go back to Serbia for horse racing.

Jokić revealed in a 2016 interview with Slam that throughout his early adolescence, he was more interested in horse racing than basketball. “Basketball was always in my life,” he remarked. However, I eventually began to get involved with horse racing. I have a newfound admiration for horses’ grace and beauty. For me, it was much like a pastime.

Jokić’s love of horse racing has come full circle, giving his remarkable career a new angle and solidifying his place as a truly gifted athlete.
