Kingsley Coman of Bayern Munich might become an official target for Arsenal following a new transfer development. After signing four new players this summer, the Gunners are now looking to boost their forward corps in the event that a special market opportunity presents itself. Coman may be one of the players.
Bayern has made the French international available for transfer, either on a season-long loan or on a permanent basis. With the purchases of David Raya, Riccardo Calafiori, and Mikel Merino for just less than £100 million, Arsenal’s budget appears unlikely to support another high-paid long-term player.
Smith Emile Eddie Nketiah’s proposed £30 million move to Crystal Palace will also help, albeit it is likely to be a temporary move if Arsenal does try to buy Coman. Rowe’s original £27 million transfer to Fulham has improved matters.
While numerous European teams have indicated considerable interest in Coman, it looks like Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal has finalised an agreement. Coman has apparently agreed to the transfer, and Bayern has sought between £42 million (€50 million) and £50.5 million (€60 million) to allow him to depart.
However, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Coman’s agent, Christian Emile, has denied the charges, saying, “It’s not true.” At this moment, Kingsley has not accepted any offers. Given that the information came directly from Coman’s camp, Arsenal has some hope that they may still strike an agreement before the deadline.
Fabio Vieira’s exit from Emirates Stadium to join Porto could leave a gap in Arteta’s lineup, as the Portugal international usually fills in for Bukayo Saka out wide. In light of this, Ethan Nwaneri may not be substantially hampered as he seeks consistent playing time in midfield while Vieira is absent.
While PSV’s Johan Bakayoko remains available, Brighton’s Simon Adingra has been discussed as a potential alternative for Coman. Jadon Sancho of Manchester United and Raheem Sterling of Chelsea are two more players that could be sold before the transfer season ends.
