Manchester United fans suspect that Erik ten Hag might bench Alejandro Garnacho after noticing his recent social media activity.

One fan commented, “He’s asking for trouble.”

Another added, “The kid is definitely going to be benched for a while.”

Yet another suggested, “I hope Garnacho gets sold. At least we’ll see more of [Amad] Diallo.”

One supporter remarked, “Garnacho liked it. My brother will be out of the squad tomorrow.”Alejandro Garnacho recently liked an Instagram post including Ronaldo's latest criticism of Ten Hag

Garnacho has previously faced criticism for liking posts that were critical of Ten Hag, particularly after being substituted during United’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in April.

However, his recent liking of Ronaldo’s rant could escalate his issues with the former Ajax manager. Ronaldo’s second stint at Old Trafford ended abruptly after a public clash with Ten Hag, which he addressed in an interview with Piers Morgan.Ten Hag demands more from Garnacho: He can reach 'very high level' | theScore.com

Ronaldo has continued his criticism of Ten Hag, telling former teammate Rio Ferdinand that Manchester United needs a complete overhaul. He criticized Ten Hag for not being ambitious enough, saying that as Manchester United’s coach, one should always strive to compete for the League and the Champions League, even if it seems unlikely.

Ronaldo, now 39, suggested that Ten Hag should listen to advice from former players, including new assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, if he wants to improve the club’s situation. He emphasized that those with experience at the club, like Van Nistelrooy, understand the team and its dynamics better than those working in administrative roles.

United will return to action on Saturday, facing Southampton at St Mary’s.
