ANDRE ONANA couldn’t help but chuckle after his Manchester United teammate Amad Diallo took an unfortunate hit to the groin during their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace. The incident occurred in the second half when a powerful shot from Palace midfielder Adam Wharton made unwanted contact with Diallo.
Typically, such a painful moment would evoke sympathy from teammates, but Onana found it amusing, laughing at Diallo’s misfortune. Fans quickly took to social media, expressing their disbelief. One wrote, “LMAO Onana laughing because Amad got hit in the balls,” while another commented, “This team is so unserious.”
Sky Sports commentator Rob Hawthorne even noted, “Onana thought it was funny.”
Despite the incident, Diallo likely forgave Onana quickly, as the United goalkeeper made a stunning double save shortly after, preventing the team from dropping points. Onana denied a low shot from Eddie Nketiah before quickly recovering to stop a follow-up effort from Ismaila Sarr.
Palace’s Dean Henderson also had a standout performance, helping his team secure a point against his former club United.
